How Kivus works
Where prices come from
Every day we receive each store’s full catalogue through their official affiliate programmes (Awin, Tradedoubler and Effiliation). We never copy prices by hand or make them up: we show the price and stock the store itself publishes.
How often they are updated
Catalogues are processed once a day (overnight). If a store stops listing a product for 48 hours we mark it as out of stock, and after 72 hours it disappears from the site even if that store’s feed fails. Each product page shows when its price was last updated.
One product, several stores
We match offers from different stores using the product’s EAN code (or brand and manufacturer part number). When a store sells several versions of the same item (sizes or colours) we show a single row with the cheapest one and how many variants it has. Colours of the same model are grouped into a single card.
What we consider a real deal
The crossed-out price shown by stores is not always reliable. That is why we calculate discounts against our own history: the "usual price" is the median of each day’s lowest price over the last 90 days. We only show a discount with at least 14 days of data, and the "Lowest price" label requires at least 30 days.
How we rank deals
The deal index combines the real discount versus the usual price, the savings in euros, whether it is the lowest price, the number of stores selling it and its relevance for cyclists. It penalises very cheap items so a 60% discount on a €10 strap does not bury 20% off a set of wheels.
Shipping costs
When the store publishes them, we show shipping costs and the total price next to each offer. The final price is always the one shown on the store’s website.
How Kivus makes money
Kivus is free. If you buy after clicking an offer, the store may pay us a small commission at no extra cost to you. Offers are sorted by price, never by the commission they pay.
